I photographed and filmed (often as a Medical Officer) at these meetings half a century ago (no lives were lost). These pages are a record of my visits, mostly Formula One but including the 1965 Oulton Park Tourist Trophy, the 1969 Targa Florio and the 1970 BOAC 1,000km.
Doctors with cameras were invisible then, and I even did some grid-walks at the British Grand Prix.
Monaco was the only place the public could get really close to the action: you could even find good positions and move between them. No more: too crowded!
Many of my old photographs appear in the Formula One Opus, and several other books.
NOTE: some of the original transparencies are soft and grainy by modern standards. Look before you buy: if in any doubt please ask for a full-resolution file showing part of your image.
